THE GERBERA DAISY
Here at East Coast Landscape Design, we love educating and informing our clients on the many
wonders of plants and flowers. Each month we feature a new plant on our website, so please check back
every month to see what the next month may bring! As fall quickly approaches our area, we have
decided to choose the delightful and bright Gerbera Daisy!
The Gerbera, most commonly known as the Gerbera Daisy, is a genus of the same family as the
Sunflower; one can see a strong family resemblance between the two. When taking a closer look at
this cheerful flower, you will see what appears to be a single flower. However, the Gerbera is a cluster
of hundreds of individual flowers. You can find Gerberas in sizes ranging from 7-12 cm, and in a variety
of colors, such as white, yellow, red, orange and pink. This bright and cheerful flower will instantly add
color and punch to your yard!
